Working in collaboration with professionals

Supporting the families you support, together

Music Psychotherapy for Children and Young People

Music Psychotherapy can be a valuable intervention for children, young people and their families, when faced with mental health difficulties, trauma, and communication challenges, including SENDs.

I have extensive experience with working with a wide range of family and clinical professionals, to ensure the best outcomes for each young person. My referrals not only come from families, but from social workers, health and medical professionals, and SENDCo recommendations on EHCPs.

Over the last decade, I have supported children and young people process a wide range of issues, and recover from conditions, including but not limited to:

- self harm

- eating disorders

- CSE

- HSB

- complex trauma

- family breakdown

- addictions

- pregnancy & abortion

- grief

- grooming

- abandonment

- rape & sexual assault

- medical trauma

I also support young people who are facing challenges with regard to their LGBTQ+ identity.

If you would like to know more about how we can work together, or to make a referral, please complete a contact form and I will be in touch.

Music Psychotherapy for Parents and Babies

After welcoming a baby into the family, parents may experience a number of mental health conditions, including (but not limited to) PND, PTSD, depression, anxiety and OCD.

These issues may arise from birth trauma, NICU stays, existing mental health conditions which are exacerbated by parenthood, exhaustion, a lack of outside support, etc and can lead to numerous complications which may affect a parent’s ability to parent and / or ability to bond with their baby/babies.

The benefits of group Music Therapy are widely recognised, as are the benefits of Music Therapy for babies (particularly those who may have experienced a trauma such as prematurity or early medical interventions) and Music Therapy for parent-infant bonding.

Music Therapy supports parent-infant attachment, the strengthening of neural pathways in the infant’s brain, supports the sucking reflex (particularly useful for babies who struggle to breast feed), and invites healing into post natal body and mind.

Babees Music Psychotherapy provides a space where parents and their babies can come together, to find connection, understanding, support and healing, in a safe, non-judgemental environment.

To make a referral to Babees Music Psychotherapy, please complete the contact form and I will get back to you.
