Following an early career as a music teacher & community musician (BA Hons; PGCE), I graduated from the University of South Wales in 2016 with a Masters Degree in Music Therapy (MA MT) and am now in my 10th year of work post-qualification.
I am a flautist and hold an Associate of Trinity College London performance diploma (ATCL).
Since qualifying, I have undertaken both employed and contracted work, currently running a successful private practice alongside my long-term employed post at a well-regarded Somerset SEMH school.
As well as being a registered Arts Therapist with the HCPC (Health & Care Professions Council) and an active member of BAMT (British Association of Music Therapy), I run a peer support group for Music Psychotherapists working within the field of complex trauma.
I have presented research into the use of Music Therapy with SEMH students (funded by the Music Therapy Charity) at the University of South Wales, and a case study focusing on the use of AI in Music Therapy at a BAMT SW Network event.
I also run GarageBand training sessions for Music Therapists looking to expand their knowledge and use of music technology.
