At Bee Yourself Music Psychotherapy, the focus is always on working together to achieve the best outcomes for your child. It is essential that each part of a child’s life is connected in order for them to thrive - their therapy, their school, their family.
Whilst therapy provides a confidential space for your child, I will remain in regular contact with you, so your child feels held and supported whilst on their therapeutic journey.

Music Therapy is an established psychological clinical intervention, delivered by HCPC registered music therapists to help people whose lives have been affected by injury, illness or disability through supporting their psychological, emotional, cognitive, physical, communicative and social needs. - BAMT
As a Music Psychotherapist, I use music to connect with my clients on different levels. Sessions encourage, and help children and young people, to find, express and accept themselves.
I have worked as a Music Therapist for ten years, in the fields of complex trauma, post-adoption support, SEMH and SEND.
Sessions with your child / children are tailored to suit their individual needs. This includes providing a wide range of resources appropriate to their age and physical ability.
Sessions can either take place at your family home or at your child’s educational setting.
Most sessions are timetabled to last between 30 and 60 minutes. Recommendations will be made based on your child’s age and needs.
After an initial consultation, an initial block of 20 sessions is recommended, with this being reviewed after 10 weeks.
There is no typical Music Psychotherapy session, but a session could include:
- writing song lyrics
- playing different instruments
- role play with puppets
- talking
- sharing musical tastes & preferences
- singing
- creating art
I always begin with an initial telephone consultation, so you can give me the full picture of your child’s needs. Then we can arrange a way forward to support your family.
